Travel plans!

I just bought tickets for a week in Georgia with Mary and her family! I'm super excited to spend time with my big sis. Even more exciting, the fact that I'm only bringing one child with me!!!! That's right Mama and Jasper will be leaving Mielle and Papa at home!
Poor Mielle, missing out on the fun! I still can't quite believe I'll be doing something without her. I was just realizing that only one night in her whole 2 and a half years of life has she slept anywhere but at my side! And even that particular time I was only in another room! It should be interesting to see how she adapts to the changes of being without Mama for a whole week. I hope she and Papa have a good time together and that we are able to make some permanent changes... like maybe stopping nursing??
Yes that's right, my 2 and a half year old still nurses 2 or 3 times a day... I take a great deal of pride in providing her with such a perfect food, rich with love. It has eased my mind many a time when dealing with a sick little girl, knowing that she was at least nursing when nothing else would stay down. I have really struggled with how to approach weaning her, when she has made it so clear that she loves to nurse. I mean, why deny her something that is great for her nutritionally speaking, that I have in abundance, which calms her and helps her feel deeply loved? How old is too old to be given nature's purest most perfect food??? I must admit I'm embarrased to nurse her publicly and do confine nursing to a bedtime activity (except when she hit her head in a restaurant recently)so obviously I'm not entirely comfortable with nursing a toddler. But whenever I consider weaning her, I find myself thinking of all the benefits. So, I'm quite curious to see how a week away from me will affect her drive to nurse.

I am hoping to find more time online while visiting my sister, so check back.. there may be something new to read about!
